Callum's story

In the last two years, Callum Worker has climbed Ben Nevis, tackled the Three Peaks as well as organising a sponsored football match and fun day, all to support Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Callum's daughter is still receiving treatment from our Cardiac team at the same time he and his family have raised over £8,000 for the Heart wards!

Ivy Rose was brought to Birmingham Children's Hospital at just three days old with an infection. Her kidneys and liver started to fail and the team discovered multiple holes in her heart. Ivy Rose was given antibiotics and successfully fought the infection. She is still being closely monitored by the Cardiac team; many of the holes in her heart have closed but now, at age 2, she still has 2 small holes.

Callum said "The Hospital means the world to me and my family. For my first fundraiser, at times, I was unsure about how things would go but with my target being £1,000 and then raising over £3,000 I felt overwhelmed from the support we got from all our friends and family and so proud at what we had achieved."
